Jendrik – ‘I don’t feel hate’

If after their null points disaster with the public vote at Eurovision 2019, Germany wanted to make a statement in 2021, its quite clear they have succeeded. Not musically but rather, never again can it be said that German’s don’t have a sense of humour’.

Whilst the song does manage to deliver its highly relevant and contemporary message on the issues of online bullying and trolling in a light-hearted and quirky manner, its novelty value wears thin very quickly after a few listens.

With much of the initial reaction to the release falling firmly into the ‘not glowing’ category, one can only hope that Jendrik is able to embrace the message of his song and enjoy his moment in the spotlight in Rotterdam.
