2021 Eurovision in review

Uku Suviste – ‘The Lucky One’

Another returning artists from 2020, Uku Suviste was one of the contestants that didn’t have the luxury of being pre-selected and therefore had to win his way through the Estonia national selection Eesti Laul to secure his place at Eurovision 2021.

Stylistically ‘ The Lucky One’ is not a million miles removed from Estonia’s 2019 entry by Victor Crone ‘Storm’, something that LCD backdrop during his national final performance seems to re-inforce.

Whilst Uku  gives a spirited performance and there is little to criticise about the song, this is Eurovision filler material that simply doesn’t have depth or originality to see it doing anything other than perhaps getting out of its allocated semi final.
