Daði Freyr X ÁSDÍS can ‘Feel The Love’ with brand new single

Daði Freyr X ÁSDÍS have released a new single called Feel The Love. It is an upbeat electro pop/dance track with a strong retro 80s style production.

Feel The Love is produced by Daði Freyr and the audio mix is by Styrmir Hauksson. The track is available to download or stream from all good digital stores including Amazon, Spotify, iTunes and many more.

Daði & Gagnamagnið were one of the big favourites to win the 2020 Eurovision Song Contest with Think About Things. However, the contest was cancelled due to the world health pandemic.  Daði will represent Iceland at the 2021 Eurovision Song Contest.

ÁSDÍS (Ásdís María Viðarsdóttir) is a popular artist in Iceland. She has had several hit songs and music videos and took part in the 2014 Söngvakeppnin national selection with Amor.

Hera Björk smells ‘The Scent Of Christmas’ with special online concert

Hera Björk will be hosting a special online concert on 20 December – ‘The Scent Of Christmas’. It will take place in Iceland and will be a fun and glammed up and festive affair.

Originally the plan was to host a 20th Anniversary Christmas Concert in Hallgrímskirkja in Reykjavik, Iceland but due to the Covid 19 problems this year it has not been possible to organise.

Hera will be performing a few Christmas classic songs and will be supported by some Icelandic colleagues and guests.

Hera represented Iceland at the 2010 Eurovision Song Contest with Je ne sais quoi.

Daði Freyr has released a festive Christmas single called Every Moment Is Christmas. It is a melodic retro style ballad with an electronic instrument sound.

Every Moment Is Christmas is composed by Daði Freyr. The mixing was by Daði Freyr and Styrmir Hauksson and mastering by Styrmir Hauksson.

Daði & Gagnamagnið were one of the big favourites to win the 2020 Eurovision Song Contest with Think About Things. However, the contest was cancelled due to the world health pandemic. It was recently announced that Daði & Gagnamagnið will represent Iceland at the 2021 Eurovision Song Contest.

Jóhanna Guðrún releases sweet new single ‘Löngu liðnir dagar’

Jóhanna Guðrún has released a beautiful new single called Löngu liðnir dagar (Long gone days). It is a powerful and anthemic ballad and reminiscent of something from a Disney movie and sounds just perfect for the festive holidays. Infact, the song is from her forthcoming Christmas album.

Löngu liðnir dagar is composed by Jóhanna Guðrún, Jón Ragnar Jónsson and Einar Lövdahl.

Jóhanna, or Yohanna as most of us will know her by, represented Iceland at the 2009 Eurovision Song Contest with Is It True? and took the runner up position in the competition.

HOME VIDEOS – ERES TU – HERA BJORK

During the lock down in Europe over the Eurovision period in May, many Eurovision singers did home videos of other Eurovision artists songs. In the wake of ESC COVERS COVER2COVER singing competition, we will feature some of these so South African artists in particular can get an idea how it is done. Nor Bert of EuroVisionMusic picked the ones as he followed the whole series.

The eighth video is HERA BJORK from ICELAND  (who represented her country at the 2010 Eurovision song contest with JE NE SAIS QUOI, covering the Eurovision entry from SPAIN 1973– ERES TU of MOCEDADES.

Daði Freyr cracks the Official UK Top 40 Singles Chart with ‘Think About Things’

Daði Freyr  & Gagnamagnið have made it in to the Official UK Top 40 Singles Chart with Think About Things. It currently stands at Number 34 in the listings.

It is unusual in recent years that a Eurovision song makes it in the UK charts so this is a great achievement. Think About Things was one of the big favourites that might have won the 2020 Eurovision for Iceland if it had taken place.

Let’s hope Think About Things goes on to be a big summer hit throughout Europe and the world.
