Norbert Pannemann, a Dutch person living in Ireland and the owner of the facebook Music, Eurovision and beyond, is the second person to tell us of his Discotheque memory. We are doing this because the group THE ROOP from Lithuania picked a song called Discotheque for the 2021 Eurovision song contest. We allowed people to also pick a non Eurovision song, if such a song brings back special memories.

On Saturday 6 February the song DISCOTHEQUE sung by THE ROOP was selected as the 2021 Eurovision entry for LITHUANIA. This got ESC Covers and Music, Eurovision and beyond thinking to do a little project about Discotheques.
The formality of The Roop winning Pabandom iš naujo! was concluded this evening as they romped to a landslide victory to confirm their place at Eurovision 2021 with their song ‘Discoteque’.
The Roop are flying high with their Pabandom iš naujo! Lithuanian national selection song, Discotheque, and creating new records.
Heat 2 took place of the Pabandom iš naujo! national selection in Lithuania. Five more acts qualifed for the next phase. In addition The Roop got to showcase their 2021 entry, Discotheque.

The Roop will go directly to the final with Discotheque, which they performed for the first time. They missed out on Eurovision 2020 after the competition was cancelled due to the world health pandemic. The song they were selected with in 2020 was On Fire.

The highly anticipated video for The Roop 2021 entry for the Lithuanian Eurovision 2021 national selection has been released today.
The Roop have released a new version of their song Keista Draugystė (Strange friendship). It is the Matto remix. It is a catchy upbeat mix of the track.
Keista Draugystė (Matto remix) is available to purchase or stream from most digital stores.
The Roop were selected to represent Lithuania at the 2020 Eurovision Song Contest with On Fire, but of course this did not take place due to the Covid-19 pandemic.

It is the 25th cover of the 41 entries at the 2020 Eurovision song contest and we are ON FIRE. Yes it is LITHUANIA and their entry called ON FIRE by THE ROOP. This song did extremely well with the bookmakers and many even predicted a win.
