BJORGVIN HALLDORSSON HAS PASSED AWAY

Björgvin Halldórsson, April 16, 1951 – April 9, 2025, was an Icelandic pop singer from Hafnarfjörður. He represented Iceland in the Eurovision Song Contest 1995 with the song Núna, sung in Icelandic.He also often participated in the Icelandic national final for the Eurovision Song Contest, Söngvakeppnin, in 1986, 1987, 1989, 1990 & 1992.

CELEBRATING 70 YEARS OF EUROVISION – SONG 11

This year we celebrate 70 years of EUROVISION. ESC Covers will pick 70 Eurovision songs but we will not publish the original as those songs are well known. Instead we will pick a cover, in various languages and by various singers. There is no order, it is just as they come into our minds. One song per day will be posted. I started a new series to remember the fact that Eurovision is 70 years old. 28 of those years I had attended Eurovision at the host city, but unfortunately just 25 years I had press accreditation so I could meet the participating artists and therefor I will focus just on artists from those 25 years.
