A few weeks ago I started to post about a Eurovision song with an original version and at least two covers. As ESC Covers is a COVERS website, one of two covers of the original song will be posted.
The 16th song is from 1985. It is LA DET SVINGE by BOBBYSOCKS for NORWAY. I started at 1970 and each day I will move one year. I will go on until there is hopefully one for each year that follows and then return back to 1970. Continue reading LA DET SVINGE – NORWAY 1985
This year we celebrate 70 years of EUROVISION. ESC Covers will pick 70 Eurovision songs but we will not publish the original as those songs are well known. Instead we will pick a cover, in various languages and by various singers. There is no order, it is just as they come into our minds. One song per day will be posted. Fortunes changed for NORWAY in 1985. After having come last and even getting zero points several times, they finally won the Eurovision song contest for the first time in 1985 with LA DET SWINGE. It was performed by a female duo called BOBBYSOCKS. This duo was made up by HANNE KROGH and ELISABETH ANDREASSEN. My vinyl single has both the Norwegian original and the English version on it. The English version is called LET IT SWING. Rolf Lovland wrote the original song and Alixzandra wrote the English lyrics.
