MILAN, PAUL & ELA – DAS IST OKAY

ESC Covers is a website that focus on covers, mainly Eurovision songs covered in other languages or by other artists. We also give attention to the covers of songs by Eurovision singers where the song in question was not the artist actual Eurovision entry. In this regard we look especially at ABBA. They had so many great songs and so many artists recorded their songs, either in English or another language. We had a fantastic surprise yesterday when we discovered a trio of MILAN, PAUL & ELA who had recorded not one but THREE ABBA songs in German. Roy and Ian had such a great time discovering these songs. We will feature all three in due course. It is important for us to feature each one separate so it stands out. We tried to gather information of Milan, Paul and Ela but found very little other than Milan seemed to have been born in Italy. Our guess is that they operated in the 70’s in the Italian part of Switzerland.

The first song we look at is their cover of S O S. It is called DAS IST OKAY.

ABBA MEDLEY COMPETITION

We have another competition, but this unfortunately is only for R O W members who will be at the ABBA museum on Wednesday 11 May.

Two South African singers (and R O W members) have done ABBA medleys and these songs are now available on one CD. There are just 5 copies, one will be given to the museum and 4 others to R O W members who are at the museum that day. It will be a lucky draw so everybody who will be there – your name will be put into a hat and the first 4 names drawn, will get these medley singles. The songs on the medleys are

PATRICIA LEWIS

01 – Ring ring

02 – S O S

03 – Gimme gimme gimme a man after midnight

04 – Waterloo

05 – Thank you for the music

RIANA VAN WYK

01 – Take a chance on me

02 – Dancing queen

03 – Mamma mia

04 – Thank you for the music

S O S – SONG FOUR

I sent out several S O S messages yesterday as for almost 12 hours the telephone line at my server was out of order and so I was unable to connect to send out mails or receive mails, or even get to facebook or the website. but this morning the problem is solved and so I can add the next song – S O S. The song came out in 1975 and South Africa got TV in January 1976 and one of the first programmes we got to see was about some kind of rescue at sea and people sending S O S messages and they played this song on the show.

What I want to see reaction is, is the following. If you are in need and have to send a S O S, to which EUROVISION ARTIST would you send such a S O S and why.
