Eurovision national selections – Qualifiers latest round up

On Saturday evening we had several qualifying rounds from various countries. Here is a short round up of the acts that made it to the next phase –

SWEDEN

The second semi-final of the 2018 Melodifestivalen took place in Gothenburg.

The two acts to go directly to the final are –

  • Samir & Viktor
  • Liamoo

The two acts who have a second chance are –

  • Mimi Werner
  • Margaret

HUNGARY

The 2018 A Dal continued with the following acts qualifying –

  • Dánielfy Gergely
  • Heincz Gábor BIGA
  • Süle Zsolt
  • Leander Kills

ICELAND

The 2018 Söngvakeppnin began and the following three acts made it to the final –

  • Ari Ólafsson 
  • Fókus

LITHUANIA

The fifth show of the 2018 Eurovizija took place in Lithuania and the following made it through –

LATVIA

The 2018 Supernova competition continued and the following made it to the final –

UKRAINE 

The first semi-final kicked off in Ukraine and the three acts below made it to the final –

The versatile and talented Ukrainian singer, Sysuev, has just released his brand new single and video clip for the song Dark Side Of Your Heart.

The video shows the serious side of Sysuev to reflect the mood of the song and lyrics. It is based on a story about a struggle a person has with their dark side. Most people have a secret and hidden dark side to them, which is mainly not visible to anybody else, only to the hidden feelings of themselves. The video captures the unfortunate mood of a person who has suffered a bitter loss of something or someone in their lives.

Dark Side Of Your Heart is taken from the ‘MmrZ’ EP that Sysuev released in 2017. It is available to purchase or stream via most digital platforms such as Apple Music, iTunes, Spotify, Google Play, etc.

Anna Trincher is a very busy girl these days. Not only is she currently appearing in a highly rated school drama, Shkola, and of course her studies, she has released a new cover song and video with Nikolay Shcheslavsky & Igor Pavlenkov.

The song they have covered is called Tayet Dym (Smoke is fading away) by Maks Korzh. It an acoustic song that blends the Anna’s vocals nicely with Nikolay and Igor.

Anna represented Ukraine at the 2015 Junior Eurovision Song Contest.

Anna Trincher to appear in new tv school drama in Ukraine

Not only is Anna Trincher a very talented young singer. She has now added acting to her repertoire. Anna will be taking part in a highly anticipated school drama on 1+1 channel in Ukraine starting in January 2018 called ‘Shkola’.

On the 1+1 website it says this about the show. “Successful business lady Katya learns that her daughter has tried to commit suicide.  “As it turns out, not the first time. In order to be closer to her daughter and to understand what the children really are doing at school, she begins to work as a teacher of economics. The young mother had no idea what secrets hide behind the walls of the ordinary Ukrainian school. At the same time, a new English teacher, a former lawyer and son of director Alex, comes to the educational institution. He has a bride who lives in the United States, but suddenly a spark flashed between him and Catherine. However, skeletons of the past still make themselves known and do not let our heroes go.”

Anna represented Ukraine at the 2015 Junior Eurovision Song Contest with Pochny z sebe and she has since gone on to release much respected songs and videos such as Ne boysia, Want To Ask and SOS and Love. She is also popular Vlogger when she has spare time.

In Tbilisi at the Junior Eurovision song contest a great program book was handed out looking very much like those at ADULT Eurovision. Roy of ESC Covers had each of the 16 acts sign the book and for the next days we will post it. Today we can highlight the tenth one – it is UKRAINE who ended with 147 points – the two members accompanying Anastasiya proved to be very talented musicians.

A new group making waves in Ukraine are the COCOS. The three member girl band have just released their brand new single entitled Oshibka (Error).

The COCOS first hit was Instagram and became a number one hit and a top radio song. The girls also released an album entitled Instagram also.

COCOS are also currently doing a tour of Ukraine and gaining even more popularity. The girls have the possibility to be as big as Serebro or Via-Gra and we may see them on the Eurovision stage in the future.

Sysuev/MmrZ (EP)

Sysuev has released a brand new mini album entitled MmrZ (EP). It shows the versatility of the talented Ukrainian singer and the different styles of music he can adapt to. Sysuev has worked with a lot of international producers on this project.

Let us look at the tracks on the EP –

The lead track is MmrZ which is a Pop Future Bass song with an r’n’b vibe.

Then we have Great Escape which has a tropical pop beat with a strong production.

Next up is Too Far which is a storming dance track with also a hot production. Perfect for the clubs and dancefloors around Europe!

Then we have a change of pace with Dark Side Of Your Heart, a pop ballad, that shows Sysuev’s strong vocals.

Finally we have What Are We Waiting For. Another upbeat dance song that has an irresistible beat and rhythm.

MmrZ (EP) is available to purchase on digital sites such as iTunes and stream on Spotify.

Anna Trincher wins top prize of New Cover FM on Europa Plus radio

Anna Trincher has had more success by winning the adult category of the New Cover FM radio project on Europa Plus radio in Ukraine. She won the coveted prize by being unanimously voted for by all the juries in vocal and artistic categories. Anna overcame a lot of talented competition by impressing  the interview on the radio and qualifying passed three tough rounds.

Anna is part of the Talant Production team and a student of Ksenia Osika. She won $500 and will get to film a video and her song will get regular rotation play on Europa Plus radio

Anna has come a long way since representing Ukraine at the 2015 Junior Eurovision Song Contest with her song Pochny z sebe and she released several successful songs and music videos such as Ne Boysya, S.O.S. and Want To Ask as well as her most recent single Love.

Anastasiya Baginska will represent Ukraine at the 2017 Junior Eurovision Song Contest in Georgia in November. She recently won the local national selection with Don’t Stop (Ne Zupyniai).

She has just released the official video clip for her song Don’t Stop (Ne Zupyniai). It also showcases the final version of the song which is melodic and beautifully sung.
