NUSA DERENDA – SLOVENIAN COVER QUEEN

During the on-going work on our project of searching for Eurovision covers in other languages by other artists, we came across Slovenian singer Nusa Derenda yesterday. She represented Slovenia at Eurovision in 2001 with the song ENGERY. We never knew she has performed so many Eurovision covers and last night listened/watched to several, among them Sweden 1999 (Take me to your heaven), Luxembourg 1972 (Apres toi), Sweden 1974 (Waterloo) and Germany 1982 (Ein bisschien frienden). It seems she concentrated on previous winners. Ein bisschien frieden was especially interesting with the song being partly in German and partly in Slovenian.

Each cover will be individually highlighted in the coming days – in our Eurovision cover series.

Nika Zorjan has released a Slovenian cover version of the current international summer chart hit, Despacito, by Luis Fonsi & Daddy Yankee feat. Justin Bieber. The title is Fejst pomale.  The song is perfect for the summer holidays, not only in Slovenia, but around the clubs and beaches of Europe and the world. The production of the song is outstanding. Congratulations to Nika and her team.

Nika has recorded a cool and beautiful summer video to accompany the track. The video clip was recorded at Terme 3000 and is by Jaka Bizjak and the video production is by Karo Media. Make up is by Indira Ekic MakeUp.

Nika participated in the 2017 EMA national selection in Slovenia with her song Fse. She was also a finalist in the 2012 Misija Evrovizija selection for Eurovision and she was actually on the Eurovision stage as part of the Slovenian team with Tinkara Kovač in Copenhagen in 2014.
