Kristina Kochegarova (Kristall) represented Ukraine at the 2011 Junior Eurovision Song Contest with her fun and energetic entry, Europe. Kristina has been talking to ESC Covers about what she has been up to since those JESC days.
What have you been doing since Junior Eurovision?
After JESC, I tried myself in different competitions. I sang in The Voice Kids (Ukraine) and was in the team of Svetlana Loboda (2009 ESC Ukraine). I would like to continue writing more articles about songs and some events for that after my internal exams. I realized songs ‘The Wings Of A Dove’ and ‘Do What You Wanna’. The movies were also made for those tracks.
After 2011 I left the Paradise PR Centre and tried myself in different kinds of music styles. Unfortunately, in the autumn, I had problems with my voice and I needed a long period to recover in hospitals. Now, I can sing and have a lot of ideas to create something new. I hope, my dreams will come true:)
Here are some clips of me performing ‘Do What You Wanna’ (live performance) and a performance at the Caribbean Club for HRC Paradise.
Thank you Kristina. We look forward to hearing new music from you soon. Best wishes from ESC Covers and our readers.
You can see Kristina (Kristall) with her performance mentioned above below as well as her 2011 Junior Eurovision video for Europe.
Viktoria & Anastasiya Petryk have collaborated on a new song entitled Unicorn. It is written and produced by Ylva & Linda Persson and Georgios Kalpakidis. The song was in the Eurovision Cyprus competition and this is a new version and is released with the cooperation of the sisters and their producer.
Viktoria represented Ukraine at the 2008 Junior Eurovision Song Contest with Matrosy and participated in the Ukrainian national selection for Eurovision.
In 2012 Anastasiya won the Junior Eurovision for Ukraine with Nebo.
Both girls have a big future in the music business.
Anna Trincher represented Ukraine at the 2015 Junior Eurovision Song Contest with her song Pochny z sebe. She is continuing to develop as a very promising singer. She is also a vlogger with her own channel on YouTube.
Anna is also very versatile and can sing in the Turkish language. You will see her below singing Masum Değiliz (We are not innocent). She has many Turkish fans and they appreciate her singing in their language as will many Eurovision fans.
We continue with the country by country voting and now we present the 15th one – namely the DEMOCRATIC REPUBLIC OF THE CONGO. As the system we use for the voting picture does not have this country in their system, we use pictures like we did for Lesotho and Swaziland
Statement from the EBU regarding Russia’s participant in the 2017 Eurovision Song Contest:
It has been confirmed to the EBU that the Ukrainian authorities have issued a travel ban on the Russian artist chosen for the Eurovision Song Contest, Julia Samoylova, as she has been judged to have contravened Ukrainian law by entering Crimea in order to perform.
We have to respect the local laws of the host country, however we are deeply disappointed in this decision as we feel it goes against both the spirit of the Contest, and the notion of inclusivity that lies at the heart of its values.
We will continue a dialogue with the Ukrainian authorities with the aim of ensuring that all artists can perform at the 62nd Eurovision Song Contest in Kyiv in May.
Morten Thomassen, president of OGAE Norway attended an Ukrainian event in Oslo tonight. There was a Eurovision-cake. JOWST (the Norwegian artists for 2017) did come by and grabbed the first bites. The cake looks so delicious! Hope they have similar cakes in Kyiv for us.
Sofia Tarasova represented Ukraine at the 2013 Junior Eurovision Song Contest with We Are One. She finished in the runner up position with her outstanding performance.
Sofia has just released a beautiful cover version of the Rihanna song, Sledgehammer. In my opinion it is even stronger than Rihanna’s version. Sofia’s charming vocals go perfectly with the haunting melody of the song. In the video Sofia beautifully and passionately performs the song. The video is a PicOi Production.
