Joe & Jake will represent United Kingdom on Saturday at the 2016 Eurovision Song Contest. The boys were invited with press and invited guests to the British Embassy in Stockholm. The elegant surroundings were perfect in a beautiful building by a lake.
Joe & Jake proved to be true ambassadors themselves as they mingled with the guests and performed a great version of their Eurovision entry You’re Not Alone.

12.Austria: Loin d’ici ZOË – 8

The 2016 Eurovision Song Contest was official opened with the Red Carpet event where all the acts (with the exception of Norway) walked amongst the press and fans.

Frans gave a confident performance of If I Were Sorry at the second rehearsal for Sweden here in Stockholm. The staging is similar to the Melodifestivalen show in March. Frans keeps it simple and this makes it more effective.
Can Frans follow in the steps of Måns Zelmerlöw? ….what do you think?
ManuElla gave an outstanding performance of Red And Blue at her second rehearsal for Slovenia in Stockholm today. She looked stunning in her white dress and she was accompanied by Jannik Baltzer Hattel, an acrobat from Denmark.
ManuElla said at her press conference she is influenced by the country rock sound and this is the style that will be on her forthcoming album. She is hoping her Eurovision show will give her new followers around the world including USA, who will broadcast the show this year.

Today we saw the return of three previous participants. Poli Genova (Bulgaria), Donny Montell (Lithuania) and Kaliopi (FYR Macedonia) all graced the Eurovision stage again.
Here at ESC Covers we have differing opinions. Roy van der Merwe prefers the new songs by the said artists. However, I prefer the 2012 entries by Donny Montell (Love Is Blind) and Kaliopi (Crno I Belo). But Poli’s new song for 2016 is better than her previous attempt in Na inat in 2011.

Nicky Byrne will represent Ireland with Sunlight. He gave his second press conference of the week. He was satisfied with his performance. He admitted he had a problem with a certain note in previous rehearsals. But finally Nicky was happy.
Nicky has just released a brand new album and also confirmed the Westlife boys, Shane and Mark have been supportive in recent days.
Joe & Jake gave their first rehearsals for the United Kingdom in Stockholm for their song You’re Not Alone. The guys seemed confident and gave a good performance. However, speaking at the meet and greet, Jake was taken by surprise a little with the pyrotechnics in the final run through. He said his eyebrows were almost singed.
The song has an anthemic feel with a strong production. It would be nice if the UK made it to the left side of the scoreboard in 2016.
Francesca Michielin, the representative of Italy E 2016, gave her first rehearsal today and she spoke of her experience. Francesca appeared confident and spoke English in a charming way. She was happy with her performance and said the Italian team were working on some ideas for the final stage presentation.
No Degree Of Separation is a song that really grows on you and her powerful voice and stage show will appeal to many.
Jamie-Lee Kriewitz gave her first set of rehearsals with her song Ghost. Her quirky performance was charming on the stage.
I personally like this song that has a haunting and memorable chorus.
