Today we saw the return of three previous participants. Poli Genova (Bulgaria), Donny Montell (Lithuania) and Kaliopi (FYR Macedonia) all graced the Eurovision stage again.
Here at ESC Covers we have differing opinions. Roy van der Merwe prefers the new songs by the said artists. However, I prefer the 2012 entries by Donny Montell (Love Is Blind) and Kaliopi (Crno I Belo). But Poli’s new song for 2016 is better than her previous attempt in Na inat in 2011.
Poli Genova will sing If Love Was A Crime for Bulgaria at the 2016 Eurovision Song Contest in Sweden in May. The song is composed by Borislav Milanov, S. Arman, J. Persson and Poli Genova. It is an upbeat song with a strong production.
Poli represented Bulgaria at the 2011 Eurovision Song Contest with Na Inat.
You can see the official video for If Love Was A Crime below.
Bulgaria have internally selected Poli Genova to represent them at the 2016 Eurovision Song Contest in Stockholm, Sweden in May. Poli represented Bulgaria at the 2011 Eurovision held in Germany in 2011 with her song Na Inat. She was also the presenter at the 2015 Junior Eurovision Song Contest held in Sofia.
The song for Stockholm will be announced over the coming weeks. We will bring you more details of that on esccovers.com when more details are known.
