EUROVISION ARTISTS – COSTUMES THAT GOT ATTENTION – GOOD OR BAD – FINLAND 2006

Today Morten looks at a very different costume in the form of Finland 2006. ESC Covers google translated it from Norwegian to English.

There can be so many costumes and sometimes it is the song title and the song’s content that more or less determines how the artist should dress.

And sometimes that means actually having to hide your own identity and step into a role and play it fully.

It made everyone remember last year’s Norwegian contribution, but the ones who succeeded best in this particular area were the Finnish group Lordi.

The song “Hard Rock Hallelujah” was monster rock and yes, then you pose as a monster on stage.

It must have been excruciatingly hot in these costumes and I took a picture with mister Lordi himself and yes, the guy smelled quite strongly of sweat.

Our Finnish friends had to put in a lot of hard work, blood and tears, as well as obviously sweat, to finally win and I loved this song and cheered from the front row in Athens when this one won.

Despite the fact that hard-rock is really quite far from the songs that usually win ESC, it showed with conviction that if the whole concept of a song is only 100% correct, the pinnacle of victory can be reached.
