Victor Crone wins with ‘Storm’ and will represent Estonia at the 2019 Eurovision Song Contest

Victor Crone was victorious at the Eesti Laul with his song Storm and therefore will represent Estonia at the 2019 Eurovision Song Contest in Israel in May.

Victor is actually from Sweden and Storm is composed by Victor with Stig Rästa, Vallo Kikas and Fred Krieger.

The finalists were –

  1. Sissi – Strong
  2. Lumevärv ft. Inga – Milline päev
  3. Victor Crone – Storm
  4. Kerli Kivilaan – Cold Love
  5. xtra basic & Emily J – Hold Me Close
  6. Kadiah – Believe
  7. Synne Valtri – I’ll Do It My Way 
  8. Stefan – Without You
  9. The Swingers, Tanja & Birgit – High Heels In The Neighbourhood
  10. Uku Suviste – Pretty Little Liar
  11. Inger – Coming Home 
  12. Sandra Nurmsalu – Soovide puu

From the above three acts qualified for a super final – Uku Suviste, Stefan and Victor Crone.

It was Victor who took the crown and will fly the Estonian flag in Tel Aviv.

Bilal Hassani releases the official music video for ‘Roi’

Bilal Hassani was recently selected to represent France at the 2019 Eurovision Song Contest with the song Roi (King). Bilal won the Destination Eurovision national selection largely due to the massive public vote.

Now the official video clip has been released for Roi.

Tulia to represent Poland at the 2019 Eurovision Song Contest

The all girl group, Tulia, have been chosen to represent Poland at the 2019 Eurovision Song Contest. The band was selected internally by the broadcaster, TVP.

Tulia are Patrycja Nowicka, Dominika Siepka, Joanna Sinkiewicz and Tulia Biczak. They normally perform folk type music with a modern production.

The song that they will perform in Tel Aviv will be announced in the coming weeks.

Katerine Duska to represent Greece at the 2019 Eurovision Song Contest

It has been confirmed by the broadcaster, ERT, that Katerine Duska will sing for Greece at the 2019 Eurovision Song Contest in Israel in May.

Katerine is a Greek/Canadian singer and has a contralto type vocal somewhat like the style of Amy Winehouse.

The song for Katerine will be announced in the coming weeks.

Kobi Marimi will represent Israel at the 2019 Eurovision Song Contest

Kobi Marimi has been selected to represent Israel at the 2019 Eurovision Song Contest after winning the final of HaKokhav HaBa L’Eurovizion 2019.

Kobi appears to be popular choice. He has a deep strong voice and looks a little like Freddie Mercury.

The song for Kobi will be announced on 10 March.

Mahmood takes up the challenge and will represent Italy at the 2019 Eurovision Song Contest with ‘Soldi’

Mahmood has won the 2019 Sanremo festival and has taken up the challenge to represent Italy at the 2019 Eurovision Song Contest with his song called Soldi (Money).

Mahmood took the top prize after votes by journalists, music jury and public voting. Soldi is an upbeat song with some rap.

SWEDEN

The second semi-final of the 2019 Melodifestivalen took place in  Malmö and the two acts direct to the final are –

HUNGARY

D-Moll will represent Montenegro with ‘Heaven’ at the 2019 Eurovision Song Contest

The group D-Moll have won the Montevizija 2019 with Heaven and will therefore represent Montenegro at the Eurovision Song Contest in May.

Five acts took to the stage in the capital, Podgorica.

Kate Miller-Heidke will sing ‘Zero Gravity’ for Australia at the 2019 Eurovision Song Contest

Kate Miller-Heidke has won the very first Eurovision – Australia Decides competition and will represent them at the 2019 Eurovision Song Contest in Tel Aviv with Zero Gravity.

10 songs competed in the final –

Michael Rice to represent United Kingdom with ‘Bigger Than Us’

Michael Rice has won the Eurovision: You Decide competition and will represent United Kingdom at the 2019 Eurovision Song Contest in Israel with his song Bigger Than Us.

ESC Covers was at the event held in Manchester. As we arrived there were some Palestinian protestors outside the tv studios.

The show proved to be very entertaining. It was hosted by Måns Zelmerlöw and Mel Giedroyc. There was a medley of some successful United Kingdom songs by Måns with some help from The Fizz (1981 UK ESC winners) and Katrina (1997 UK ESC winner). Netta was also on hand to perform her winning song, Toy, for Israel in 2018.

There were three songs and six artists. Each song was sung twice by two different acts in a different style. The panel of judges (Rylan Clark-Neal, Mollie King and Marvin Humes) selected the three acts to go forward to final where the public would have the final say of who goes to Tel Aviv to represent the United Kingdom.

The songs –

Sweet LiesKerrie-Anne did an uptempo dance/soul version. Anisa did a very soulful ballad version. Kerrie-Anne was voted through to the final.

FreaksJordan Clarke did a very catchy pop version. The girl group MAID did a slightly quirky beat version. Jordan Clarke was voted through to the final.

Bigger Than UsHolly Tandy performed a country/pop upbeat version. Michael Rice did a power ballad version. Michael Rice went to the final.

After the televoting it was declared that Michael Rice would fly the UK flag in Israel in May. Bigger Than Us is composed by Laurell Barker, Anna-Klara Folin, John Lundvik and Jonas Thander.
