Sabina Chantouria releases new song and video…and will compete in national selection in Georgia

Sabina Chantouria will be participating in the Georgian Eurovision selection with her song Stranger. Sweden Songs are the publishers for the song and also for her latest release entitled Cry For Me.

Sabina is a Georgian/Swedish singer and songwriter. Cry For Me is produced by Kevin Jarvis from the USA, who has worked with artists such as Iggy Pop, Elvis Costello and Ben Vaughn.

Georgia: 26 songs revealed for national selection

The local broadcaster GPB has announced the 26 acts and songs that will compete in the 2017 Georgian national selection for the Eurovision Song Contest to be held in Kiev.

Here are the 26 acts and songs and composers –

Dihaj to represent Azerbaijan at the 2017 Eurovision Song Contest

The local broadcaster ITV have confirmed that Dihaj (or Diana Hajieva) will represent Azerbaijan at the 2017 Eurovision Song Contest to be held in Kiev in May.

Dihaj is a versatile artist who is at ease performing jazz, funk and soul and alternative pop music.

The 13 acts to compete in the 2013 Belarus national final for Eurovision have been announced. A full day of auditions took place on 30 November.

Some facts about 2017 Melodifestivalen

SVT this week announced the 28 acts competing in the 2017 Melodifestivalen semi-finals.

The acts include two former winners of the Eurovision Song Contest, Loreen (2012) and Charlotte Perrelli (1999). Roger Pontare (1994, 2000) and Krista Siegfrids (Finland 2013) also return and we see Lisa Ajax and Robin Bengtsson return from last year.

Legendary songwriter from Sweden, Thomas G:sson has four songs competing.

It looks like a strong line up for 2017.

Jana Burceska will represent FYR Macedonia at the 2017 Eurovision Song Contest

FYR Macedonia have chosen Jana Burceska to represent them at the 2017 Eurovision Song Contest in Ukraine. The broadcaster MKRTV selected Jana internally.

Jana is a former participant of the Macedonian Idol tv show.

You can see Jana perform a cover of the Aretha Franklin classic, Think, on Macedonian Idol.

O’G3NE to represent the Netherlands at the 2017 Eurovision Song Contest

The girl band O’G3NE will represent the Netherlands at the 2017 Eurovision Song Contest. The group consists of three sisters Lisa (22) and twins Amy and Shelly Vol (21).

The girls actually represented the Netherlands at the 2007 Junior Eurovision Song Contest (as Lisa, Amy & Shelley) with Adem In, Adem Uit. But they have achieved a lot since those days. They won The Voice of Holland in 2014 and have released several singles and albums.

2017 Eurovision Song Contest: 43 countries to participate

43 countries will participate at the 2017 Eurovision Song Contest in Kiev, Ukraine. It will equal the records set in 2008 and 2011. We will welcome the return of Portugal and Romania to the contest. Also, Australia once again will take part.

Hovig will sing for Cyprus at the 2017 Eurovision Song Contest

The first country to announce their act for the 2017 Eurovision Song Contest is Cyprus. It will be Hovig. He is a Cypriot singer with an Armenian background. He is also a former X Factor Greece participant back in 2009.

The song will be composed by legendary Swedish writer Thomas G:son, who wrote the 2016 Eurovision entry for Cyprus too for Minus One. Thomas has written many Eurovision songs and national selection songs over the years including the winner of the 2012 Eurovision for Sweden, Euphoria by Loreen.

The song will be announced at a later date.
