MORTEN FROM ESC NORGE AND HIS REVIEW OF THE JURY FINAL SHOW OF EUROVISION 2025

Morten Thomassen from ESC NORGE reported his views on the final just like he did on semi final 1 and 2. ESC Covers google translated it from Norwegian to English.

The jury final took place without any major incidents worth writing home about, so here is my brief verdict on the songs that will be sung in the final.

01 Norway 6 Great performance and the audience in the hall likes this, really good performance from Kyle.

02 Luxembourg 3 Sur song pulls down here

03 Estonia 5 Catchy and festive song this

04 Israel 5 Beautiful and strong performance this

05 Lithuania 1 Gloomy and terribly bland this

06 Spain 3 Too loud and insistent song

07 Ukraine 2 Doesn’t grab me at all unfortunately

08 Great Britain 2 Out of tune sometimes messy song

09 Austria 6 Magnificent and epically moving performance

10 Iceland 5 The Russian boat rolls and rules the party

11 Latvia 5 Mysterious, seductive and quite exotic

12 Netherlands 5 Both melancholic and danceable this

13 Finland 6 The Queen of the Most

14 Italy 5 Sizzling type with adorable song

15 Poland 6 The Queen of even more magnificence

16 Germany 3 Catchy but shaky vocals ruin

17 Greece 6 Ethnic music at its best

18 Armenia 3 A little too much tiring energy

19 Switzerland 5 Pleasant ballad with dramatic effects

20 Malta 5 Colorful, festive jumping party this

21 Portugal 2 This doesn’t give me any mood.

22 Denmark 3 Great vocals, but forgettable song

23 Sweden 5 Festive fun that captivates many

24 France 6 Moving and innovative performance this

25 San Marino 4 This is going to be a party

26 Albania 4 Just like this

I may have been a little generous with the highest roll of the dice, but this happens now that the songs are good. If I were to predict a winner, I would most likely think Finland, but if the juries were a little more lenient with the points, it could be that France takes it instead.

I don’t mind Sweden winning, but I don’t quite believe it, I have some doubts that people outside the Nordic countries will really embrace the Swedish song, time will tell if I’m right or wrong.

At the time of writing, the odds show that Sweden has a 41% chance of winning, followed by Austria with 20% and France with 13%, but if you think that means Sweden is almost guaranteed to win, you should think again pretty quickly.

A quick look at the odds for the 2024 final shows that when it closed, Croatia had a 52% chance of winning followed by Israel with 16% and Switzerland with 15% and we all remember who took home the broken trophy in the end.

Norway is currently predicted to finish in 20th place, up three places from when I went to bed yesterday. I’m struggling to understand why it’s so bad, but it could possibly have to do with the fact that the Norwegian song, well performed as it is, simply struggles to stand out against competitors who have obviously spent quite a lot of money on making sure their entry looks the best on screen.

Time will tell where Kyle ends up on the results list and who takes home the trophy, it will be a great show anyway and if your favorite song wins, then ESC is the most fun.
