After announcements from ROMANIA and BULGARIA, a third country has now also announced they will return to the Eurovision song contest in 2026.
Moldova’s comeback was confirmed on the EBU’s official Eurovision Instagram account.
The announcement comes ahead of a scheduled press conference this morning at the Arena Chisinău, dedicated to the country’s plans for Eurovision 2026.
A round of discussions with artists and record producers about a possible Eurovision 2026 participation took place a month or so ago. Topics included the format of a national selection, potential rule changes, promotion strategies and support measures for delegation members.
Martin Green, director of Eurovision, says:
– We are delighted to welcome back TRM after one year of absence. Moldova’s return reminds us of our community’s strength, the power of values and what it truly means to be united through music.
Could we be so lucky and see a 4th country also returning like SLOVAKIA?
