HIGHLIGHTS OF COUNTRIES NO LONGER PARTICIPATING – BOSNIA & HERZEGOVINA 1993

Bosnia and Herzegovina was represented at the Eurovision Song Contest 1993 with the song Sva Bol Svijeta, written by Dino Dervišhalidović and Fahrudin Pecikoza and performed by Fazla. The Bosnian-Herzegovinian participating broadcaster, Radiotelevision of Bosnia-Herzegovina (RTVBiH), selected its entry for the contest through a national final. This was the first-ever entry from independent Bosnia and Herzegovina in the Eurovision Song Contest.

In the early 1990s, the number of broadcasters eligible to participate in the Eurovision Song Contest increased significantly due to the breakup of Yugoslavia. The merger of the EBU with its Eastern European counterpart, the International Radio and Television Organisation (OIRT), further expanded the number of broadcasters. Broadcasters from seven of these new countries confirmed their intention to debut at the 1993 contest. This large influx of participants forced the EBU to organize a qualifying round to select entries from three of these seven new countries, which would join the entries from the twenty-two countries already participating in the Eurovision Song Contest.
The Kvalifikacija za Millstreet was held on April 3 in Ljubljana, Slovenia. A total of seven countries, including Bosnia and Herzegovina, competed for a place in the final on 15 May 1993. At the Eurovision Song Contest in Millstreet, Bosnia & Herzegovina finished in 16th place.
