HIGHLIGHTS FROM COUNTRIES NO LONGER PARTICIPATING – BOSNIA & HERZEGOVINA 1999

In this series we look at countries which aren’t participating in the Eurovision Song Contest anymore.

Bosnia and Herzegovina was represented at the Eurovision Song Contest 1999 with the song Putnici written by Edin Dervišhalidović, and performed by Edin Dervišhalidović himself and Béatrice Poulot as Dino and Béatrice. The Bosnian-Herzegovinian participating broadcaster, Radiotelevision of Bosnia-Herzegovina (RTVBiH), selected its entry for the contest through a national final.
Nine regional juries initially selected Starac I More performed by Hari Mata Hari as the winner, however the entry was later disqualified due to the song having previously been released in Finland. Then 2nd place, Dino and Béatrice, were appointed to represent Bosnia and Herzegovina at the contest.
At the contest Bosnia and Herzegovina placed seventh out of the 23 participating countries, scoring 86 points.
