ESC NORGE DISCUSSED THE 37 SONGS FROM THE 2025 EUROVISION – 23rd PLACE

ESC Covers, like in previous years, google translated ESC Norge discussion on the Eurovision song contest positions, from Norwegian to English.

This is a blog post and only represents the writer Morten Thomassen’s own views.

Two countries ended up with 47 points and in the final the order is decided based on who got the most points in the televoting and with her 2 points obtained there our Danish friend Sissal ended up last of the two countries and you could almost get “Hallucination” from less you would think.

By the way, she received the two points from Iceland, which you could almost say is a neighbor to the Faroe Islands where Sissal is from, so it was the 45 points the juries thought she deserved that kept our Danish friends from a lower placement.

After being out in the semi-final cold since 2019, it was probably a big relief for our Danish friends that they finally made it to the final, the bookmakers didn’t really believe it would happen, but the final spot was secured by a pretty decent margin.

Personally, I was never a big fan of this song, but it’s pretty clear that the biggest advantage here is Sissal’s beautiful voice, she has almost 100% control over it and it’s the one that carries the entire song, which may not be the most exciting.

In terms of performance, it all becomes quite boring and bland and Sissal appears a bit nervous at times and not quite able to carry the performance, perhaps she is so focused on managing the vocals that the rest of the package is forgotten a bit, because I have met the lady and she is super charming, a charm that was largely left in the dressing room when she entered this stage.

Finally, our Danish friends are back in the finals, let’s hope that next year they can craft a better song so they can make it higher on the results list too, power ladies singing bland songs is obviously not something the people want, we saw that in the results of several countries.
