Germany Selects Susan for Junior Eurovision

Susan ‘Stronger with you’ has been chosen by the German jury to represent her country at Junior Eurovision 2020.

The two one hour special shows broadcast on German children’s network KIKA, concluded with ‘Stronger with you’  being chosen as the song and Susan as the performer to go on to Warsaw in November and be the first to represent her country at Junior Eurovision.

Malta Junior Eurovision Song Contest 2020 national selection finalists include a couple of familiar faces

The 2020 Malta Junior Eurovision Song Contest national selection finalists were revealed yesterday (as ESC Covers reported). There were 12 finalists announced and a couple of familiar faces are in contention.

Gianluca Cilia, who charmed the audiences and tv viewing public, represented Malta in 2017 in Tbilisi, Georgia with the catchy Dawra tond. This time Gianluca is involved in a duet with Yulan Law. It will be interesting to see if Gianluca can make it to Junior Eurovision again, as no male has ever done this before.

Another act returning to the Malta Junior Eurovision final is the talented Leah Cauchi. She sang the much rated Maltese language song, Illejla, in the national selection in 2019. Although Leah did not win the song achieved much acclaim and she filmed an official music video for the track.

All the acts will perform their songs later this month and the eventual winner will be decided by an expert jury and the public vote. The 12 acts are –

Kazakhstan and Malta announce shortlisted contestants.

Both Malta and Kazakhstan have today announced the lucky artists that will compete for a chance to represent their countries at Junior Eurovision 2020.

Ukraine Selects 11 Shortlist Finalists for Junior Eurovision

Ukraine has selected the 11 artists that will complete for the honor of representing the country at Junior Eurovision 2020 in Warsaw, Poland.

Voting will take place online in early September with the winner being selected by a combination of the online votes and those if the professional jury.

Germany reveals details of Junior hopefuls

In an announcement on the official Junior Eurovision channel earlier today, it was announced that over 70 entrants hoping to represent the country at Junior Eurovision, had been whittled down to five:

Linnea May (13, from Friedrichsdorf in Hessen)
Malaika (14, from Herrsching in Bayern)
Davit (12, from Neustadt in Rheinland-Pfalz)
Leroy Kay (13, from Neuruppin in Brandenburg)
Susan (13, from Berlin)

The five remaining contestants will now perform before a panel of judges, who will decide the contestant that will represent Germany for the first time at Junior Eurovision.

T.V Channel KIKA will be following the process in two special shows ‘Junior Eurovision Song Contest – Das Casting’ which will air at 20:00 on the 1st and 2nd September.

Kazakhstan announce 30 qualifiers for Junior Eurovision

Kazakhstan today announced the 30 qualifiers who will compete to represent the country at Junior Eurovision 2020 in Warsaw, Poland.

From an initial application of 684, the judging panel have selected the 30 children who will move onto the next stage of the selection process.

The 12 finalists will each have a song written for them and will get the chance to perform live; at the previously announced televised final, which will take later this year.

Ukraine Junior Eurovision selection underway – First Artists/Songs released!

As reported here last week the Ukraine selection process for Junior Eurovision 2020 is now underway and several artists have already submitted, and had their songs released on the official YouTube Channel.

kazakhstan Junior Selection process announced.

Kazakhstan has announced the selection procedure for Junior Eurovision 2020 which will see them will revert to public vote and a televised National live final.

Following the initial application stage, a jury will select 30 participants who will be whittled down to a final 12 by an online public vote on the Khabar TV website.

The live national final will take place on Sep 26th, though at this time; according to the organisers ‘the format and venue of the final depends on the epidemiological situation’

2020 be the third time Kazakhstan has competed at Junior Eurovision having made its debut in 2018 with Daneliya Tuleshova and finishing in 2nd spot in 2019 with Yerzhan Maksim.

Ukraine Junior selection process revealed

Ukraine public broadcaster has revealed the process for selection of their Junior Eurovision participant for 2020 in Warsaw, Poland

In a change to previous years, it was announced ‘For the first time, the Public is expanding opportunities and changing the selection conditions so that talented children can enter an international competition, even if they do not have their own song. The selection of the representative of Ukraine for the Junior Song Contest “Eurovision-2020” will take place online, and everyone will be able to vote for their favorite.’

In early September, the finalists will be announced and as in previous years  the public will be able to view and vote for their favourite songs and artist.

The winner will be announced on 12th September after consideration of the public vote by the Internal jury.
