Hot on the heels of ROMANIA announcing it will return to the Eurovision song contest in 2026, BULGARIA is also making its comeback to the Eurovision Song Contest in 2026, after a three-year absence.

Bulgaria is set to return to the Eurovision Song Contest having last participated in the contest in 2022. Bulgaria last competed in the Eurovision Song Contest in Turin, Italy in 2022 with the band Intelligent Music Project and their song “Intention”. Since then, the country had withdrawn, citing financial difficulties and administrative challenges.

BNT Director General Emil Koshlukov, explained that promotion of Bulgarian culture and talent is why the broadcaster has decided to return to the competition.
