Our Slovenian friend Raiven was only given a 37% chance to make it to the final, but shame on those who don’t believe, because the song “Veronika” made it to the final, and that’s largely due to the fact that they had two good neighboring countries in the same semi-final and also that the rest of the world actually liked this song and had it in 4th place, a bit surprising actually.

Also in the final there was the neighboring country Croatia which was the saving angel all the time that almost 75% of all points achieved came from this one country, so little doubt that some neighbors are much more valuable than others.

From a musical point of view, I would probably place this song in the Balkan ballad country, although more towards the more experimental side when it comes to the performance, the song was about witches as much as possible so that we as the audience would be bewitched to vote, that plan seems great don’t see then.

Great vocals, she must have that, but the rest of what happened on stage was probably a bit too strange and possibly a bit too undressed for some, and there were probably tendencies towards screaming in some of the song which certainly didn’t do the trick for many people rather, and the fact that she performed between the two big favorites this evening probably didn’t help either, so a good number of factors dragged down a bit, unfortunately here one must say.

However, it’s great to see that someone stretches the artistic line further than most others, it’s probably contributions like this that make some people think ESC is a bit over the top from time to time and it’s a reputation that’s perfectly fine to preserve in my opinion, we don’t want only party songs or big ballads in the final, do we?

In recent years this country has had a cycle of 2 years in the final and then 2 years without the final and if that trend continues it will not work next year, but such trends are there to be destroyed, but a little more clothes on the artist rarely hurts .
