TRIBUTE TO MARTINS FREIMANIS – LATVIA 2003

ESC Covers is paying tribute today to Martins Freimans, one of the members of the group F.L.Y who represented LATVIA on home soul in the 2003 Eurovision song contest

F.L.Y performed HELLO FROM MARS which Martins composed together with another member of the group Lauris Reiniks.

Martins died on 27 January 2011. He was born on the 7th of February 1977, so today would have been his birthday.

ESC Covers had recorded their Euro entry in Afrikaans as HEMEL EN AARDE OMHELS (Heaven and earth embrace) and NADIA HUGO and HUGO NIEUWOUDT sang it.

Barry Tsai of ESC Covers make an audio video of it for the ESC Covers Youtube channel and it was uploaded today.

  1. I have great memories F.L.Y. and Martins in 2003 in Latvia. The F.L.Y. party was sensational and the group were amazing on the stage. A very nice memory that will last with me forever.
