Comment below what you thought of Russia’s alternative to Eurovision. What would you like to see in the 2026 edition?
This evening, Intervision ’25 – Russia’s answer to the Eurovision Song Contest – was held in Moscow at the Live Arena. Twenty-two countries from across the globe perormed, but Vietnam’s Đức Phúc w
His song, “Phù Đổng Thiên Vương” featured a variety of musical styles and tempos, ultimately building to a thumping dancefloor banger! The song has been a fan favourite since being released, crowning Vietnam the winners of the re-launched Intervision format. During the show, it was announced that the Saudi Arabia will host the 2026 edition.
The entire four-hour broadcast of Intervision ’25 is available to watch on the official Intervision YouTube channel. If you’re a fan of either the Eurovision Song Contest or the Junior Eurovision Song Contest, we’re sure you’ll find plenty to enjoy!
We’d like to congratulate Đức Phúcon his win, and also to all involved in the production of Intervision ’25. We eagerly look forward to future editions of the contest!
In other news – originally, the United States of America were also due to compete in the contest, but were unable to perform at the very last moment, with the following statement being published from the organisers:
“For reasons beyond the control of the organizers and the US delegation, caused by unprecidented political pressure from the Government of Australia, singer VASSY (a citizen of the United States and Australia) will not be able to perform in the final show of the contest”
This follows the replacement of the United States of America’s original song and singer, Brandon Howard, just days before the show was due to begin.
Russia were also unable to win tonight’s contest, as their representative, SHAMAN, made a statement after his performance stating that no votes from the juries were to be cast for his country. It is still unclear as to why this decision was made.
With Russia and the USA out – just 21 countries were in contention to win the contest.

Earlier today the South African delegation held a press conference in Moscow, Russia, ahead of tonight’s INTERVISION contest. Continue reading SOUTH AFRICAN DELEGATION HOLDING A PRESS CONFERENCE IN MOSCOW AHEAD OF TONIGHT’S INTERVISION CONTEST
With only a number of hours to go until Intervision 2025, ESC Covers are preparing for tonight’s big show, live from Moscow. Further press conferences are scheduled between rehearsals.
Yesterday, our journalist, Elina, attended Dima Bilan‘s (Eurovision 2008) press conference, where she asked who he would most like to perform a duet with.
Dima was the winner of the 2008 Eurovision Song Contest, and still remains to be incredibly popular, both in Russia and around the world. Dima is also the official Ambassador for the 2025 Intervision Song Contest.
Whilst the rehearsals of the contest have been behind closed doors, we thouroughly expect Dima to be performing during the show, possibly with his classic, “Believe”.
You can watch Dima’s response to our question in the YouTube short. However, if you can’t understand Russian, we have provided an English translation below the following clip.
Eliana: Some journalists have already asked you about the Arabic music you like and about the representative of Kazakhstan who was on your team as a mentor in the 10th season of The Voice Russia. Is there anyone among the participants of Intervision 2025 with whom you would like to release a duet song? Maybe with the representative of Belarus, Nastya Kravchenko? What qualities should a singer have to be a suitable duet partner for you?
Dima Bilan: I hear a lot about Nastya Kravchenko. The starting point is always the song and the music. It’s for the sake of music that we are all here together. And also, in a duet, the person has to suit me visually and energetically.
The 2025 Intervision Song Contest takes places at 20:30 (Moscow time) / 19:30 CET. The show will be broadcast live on a number of TV channels from participating countries, with some having delayed coverage to provide a more suitable time-slot for their viewers.
As of yet, no live stream has been scheduled on either of Intervision’s official YouTube or RUTUBE channels. Channel One Russia have a live stream on their website, but we believe this to be geo-blocked outside of Russia.
Yesterday, Eliana Goncharova from ESC Covers attended Wang Xi, the Chinese representative for Intervision 2025’s press conference. Wang answered an number of her questions which you can read below, translated into the English language.
The interview is also available to watch on the ESC Covers Official YouTube channel short, where it is spoken in Chinese and was translated into Russian for the press centre audience.
Eliana: You will be singing in Chinese language, and many of the audience don’t know Chinese. Could you tell us what your song is about?
Wang Xi: My song is about how the weather changes outside the window—it’s sometimes rain, sometimes sunshine. Our life goes on. Don’t rush, enjoy what you have right now. My song not only features Chinese elements, but this version also touches on the theme of nature. For example, there is a small river. I created this version specifically for Intervision. I hope the audience will listen and understand Chinese music. China has many different ethnic groups, each with its own culture and music. I’m happy to be in Moscow, I’m glad to represent Chinese music, and I’m enjoying every day here.
Eliana: How do you feel in Russia?
Wang Xi: Both during rehearsals and on excursions around Moscow, I receive warmth and support from my Russian friends. I thought I knew Russia well, but all my knowledge came from books. In China, I’m surrounded by fans, but here I’m surrounded by art and creativity. I hope that tomorrow I’ll be able to perform well. I hope my voice and my creativity will be appreciated by the people in Russia.
Wang Xi will be the third country’s performer to take to the stage, with his song “Zài lùshàng“.
