Spain: Operación Triunfo finalists known …. and 17 songs in contention for Eurovision Gala

We now know the five finalists in the 2018 season of Operación Triunfo in Spain. They are Natalia, Famous, Alba Reche, Sabela and Julia.

Spain will select their 2019 Eurovision song from the OT show. However, for Eurovision Gala there are currently 17 songs in contention including participation by 13 of the original sixteen acts.

The local broadcaster RTVE will internally select seven of 10 songs for the Eurovision Gala final. Three songs will be selected by an online vote beginning on 20 December.

Srbuk to represent Armenia at the 2019 Eurovision Song Contest

Srbuk has been chosen to represent Armenia at the 2019 Eurovision Song Contest. The announcement was made on the tv show Lav Yereko this evening on Public Television of Armenia.

She is a popular singer in her homeland and has had several hit songs. She was also successful in The Voice of Armenia reaching the later stages of the finals.

The song for Srbuk will be chosen at a later date. In the meantime check out Srbuk below. First you can see her brand new single entitled Half A Goddess and her big hit from 2016 Yete Karogh Es.

Malta: Check out Kayati and their X Factor audition

The X Factor auditions are well under way in Malta, where the eventual winners will represent them at the 2018 Eurovision Song Contest.

ESC Covers will report more about the X Factor as the show develops. But we wanted to bring to the attention the unique girl duo, Kayati.

Kayati are sisters Fatima and Mabrouka and they gave a very impressive audition and in our opinion bring a breath of fresh air. The girls sailed through to the next phase.

The slogan for the 2019 Eurovision Song Contest has been revealed. It is Dare to Dream.

The executive supervisor of the Eurovision Song Contest, Jan Ola Sand, said “This aspirational tag line represents and symbolises everything that the Eurovision Song Contest is about. It’s about inclusion. It’s about diversity. It’s about unity”.

Auditions begin for Georgian Idol – winning act will represent Georgia at the 2019 Eurovision Song Contest

The auditions for the Georgian Idol competition have begun in Tbilisi. The eventual winners will represent Georgia at the 2019 Eurovision Song Contest in Tel Aviv, Israel next May.

Auditions will go out around the country to find the best acts to take part in the popular contest.

We may well see some familiar faces from previous national selections and Junior Eurovision and, of course, some new faces.

The shows will be broadcast on GPB tv from 1 January 2019.

Tel Aviv confirmed to host 2019 Eurovision Song Contest …and dates revealed for shows

After much speculation it has finally been confirmed that Tel Aviv will be the host city for the 2019 Eurovision Song Contest in Israel.

The contest will be held at the Expo Tel Aviv (International Convention Center).

The dates for the shows have also been revealed. The semi-finals will be on Tuesday 14 May and Thursday 16 May and the grand final will be on Saturday 18 May.

Malta to choose the 2019 Eurovision act via X Factor

X Factor will come to Malta for the first time and the winning act will represent them at the 2019 Eurovision Song Contest.

The X Factor Malta will be great way of discovering new talent but it is also a blow for the many talented songwriters and artists who compete in the annual Malta Eurovision Song Contest national selection process.

Time will tell how this selection method will be.
