ESC Covers, like in previous years, google translated ESC Norge discussion on the Eurovision song contest positions, from Norwegian to English.
This is a blog post and only represents the writer Morten Thomassen’s own views.
Reuniting artists at ESC is something you can definitely enjoy, and when that artist is your favorite artist from 30 years ago, the same year that I experienced my first Norwegian victory in the hall, it’s really great.
And as if this wasn’t good enough, this year Justyna Steczkowska also managed to take home the trophy for being my favorite song, the song “Gaja” is at least as good as the song “Sama” was 30 years ago and the worst thing is that the lady didn’t look a day older than she did back in 1995.
You can almost wonder what they have in the water that Justyna usually lives in, something that prevents aging is obvious because this lady beat out all the other artists, female and male, young and old, in something that is the most breathtaking I have ever seen on an ESC stage.
And that without significantly compromising her vocals, which is obviously something this Polish pop goddess has absolute control over, in addition to all the antics she did on stage.
The entire performance is just as magnificent as the song suggests it should be and we are brought into a universe that is magical and magnificent and when the lady is lifted into the air it is sort of what you expect to happen in this performance.
It’s possible that those who watched thought it was a bit too harrowing at times and it’s possible that Justyna could have benefited from toning things down a bit at times, it’s possible that it was a bit too violent at times for the faint of heart.
Strangely enough, this song only received 17 points from the jury, surprisingly low if you ask me, the people were immediately more generous with their 139 points, their sixth best position of all time, scandalously low in my opinion, but who listens to me anyway, our Polish friends mostly submit something very unusual or very ordinary pop, one can only wonder what next year will bring.
