ESC NORGE DISCUSSED ALL 37 EUROVISION ENTRIES OF THE 2025 CONTEST – 35TH PLACE

ESC Covers, like in previous years, google translated ESC Norge discussion on the Eurovision song contest positions, from Norwegian to English.

This is a blog post and only represents the writer Morten Thomassen’s own views.

Some countries always end up at the opposite end of the results list compared to what many expected them to be, and I think the leading candidate for this year’s “Ended-in-the-wrong-end” award goes to Belgium’s Red Sebastian.

The song “Strobe Lights” was predicted by many to be a pretty sure top ten placement, and then it tastes neither fish nor fowl when you end up second to last in your semi-final, albeit with the same score as Slovenia, but they received points from several countries so they went ahead.

It was probably a poor consolation when it turned out in retrospect that San Marino thought this was the best song of the first semi-final when the rest of those who voted were not as enthusiastic about the song.

You can’t call yourself Red without the color red being a dominant color in your performance, and I’m afraid that many people remember a lot of red and rather little melody in the performance we saw.

Vocally, you could say that it was shaky at times and it also lacks quite a bit of charm and not least, what happens on stage is very energy-free, which is in stark contrast to the song itself, which has a lot of energy in it.

All in all, this turned out to be pretty awkward stuff, and it didn’t help that Seppe Herremenn, as the guy’s real name is, asked the audience to party with him, and once again I have to wonder about the lack of, or perhaps in this performance, weak, audience sound, the songs simply sound dead.

Our Belgian friends are a bit shocked at who the Belgian audience voted for, hope they get good answers as to why it went the way it did and that we’ll see them back next year.
