ESC NORGE DISCUSSED ALL 37 ENTRIES OF THE 2025 EUROVISION – 30th PLACE

ESC Covers, like in previous years, google translated ESC Norge discussion on the Eurovision song contest positions, from Norwegian to English.

This is a blog post and represents only the writer Morten Thomassen’s own views.

A total of 4 countries finished with 28 points in the semi-finals, but they are still ranked and they are ranked in such a way that the number of countries from which points have been received is counted first and if that sum is equal, then the highest number of points received from a country is the one that applies.

And the winner of the 28-point competition was Norwegian Emmy who sang for Ireland and you don’t get points for remembering that the song was called “Laika Party” and the reason why this song comes out on top in this internal competition is simply that Emmy received points from 9 countries, but mostly only low scores and she was also probably “hurt” in terms of points by the fact that no Norwegians could vote for her.

So why didn’t this catchy song about a party in honor of a dog who ended his life in a space capsule become more popular than it did? It seemed to have everything it needed to captivate the TV audience who had sole responsibility for sending 10 songs to the final.

Well, now you can’t exactly say that Emmy was completely lucky in the vocal area at times, some of the vocals are a bit too flimsy, but on songs like this it can sometimes be forgiven and not play such a big role for the audience.

The big sin here is probably that Emmy’s charm doesn’t come across as annoying, and whoever came up with the idea of Emmy standing up on this platform during the entire performance should have simply had a little beating if you ask me, or at least a severe reprimand.

Emmy never comes to the party and unfortunately she appears uninterested in her own party and that’s a rather poor way to invite to a party. In that sense, the performance in the national final was much better if you ask me.

One can only wonder what our Irish friends will do next year, wondering if domestic forces won’t be the thing then.
