DANNY, at the age of 78, is one of 7 candidates in the 2021 Finnish Eurovision selection. For 15 days, we will focus on songs covered by Danny. The 3rd song we are featuring is a cover of a Eurovision winner. It is the 1976 entry of the United Kingdom SAVE YOUR KISSES FOR ME by Brotherhood of man. Danny calls his Finnish cover SAASTA SUUKKOSI VAIN.
KEiiNO (members Alexandra Rotan, Tom Hugo and Fred Buljo) was selected directly for the final of the 2021 Norwegian Eurovision selection. Their song is called MONUMENT. KEiiNO is very much a fan based group and during their 2019 campaign traveled across Europe to perform their 2019 Eurovision entry Spirit in the sky to their fans in various countries. Due to the Corona pandemic, such a tour is not possible this year and so ESC Covers has decided to take them on a virtual tour for the next 2 or so weeks across Europe. Day 3 brings us to ROME, ITALY and to probably one of the most recognized monument or landmark there, the Colosseum.

The Dora 2021 national selection in Croatia will take place on 13 February.
The running order has been announced and two former Croatian Eurovision acts will open and close the show. Nina Kraljić (2016 ESC – Lighthouse) and Toni Cetinski (1994 ESC – Nek’ ti bude ljubav sva).

The participants in the second semi-final of Melodi Grand Prix 2021 in Norway have been revealed.
A couple of the acts are already known to ESC fans – Ketil Stokkan represented Norway at the 1986 Eurovision with Romeo and 1990 with Brandenburger Tor. Raylee took part in the Melodi Grand Prix in 2015 with Louder and in 2020 with Wild.
The second semi-final will take place on 23 January. Another automatic finalist will perform their song. It will be Stavangerkameratene with Bardndomsgater.

Still active, Danny’s singing career is one of the longest in Finland, spanning over more than 50 years. He has recorded many evergreen hit songs. And now at the age of 78 he is one of the 7 finalists in the Finnish Eurovision selection. To celebrate this achievement, ESC Covers has decided to highlight around 15 songs Danny has recorded over his long career, most covers – after all this is a website focusing on the covering of songs. The second song of Danny is a solo release, covering the song (IS THIS THE WAY TO) AMARILLO, originally by British singer Tony Christie. Tony was in the British Eurovision selection in the 70’s with QUEEN OF THE MARDI GRAS. Danny covered the Tony Christie song in Finnish but kept the title as AMARILLO.

The long road to the 2021 Eurovision has begun in Lithuania with Heat 1 of the national selection, Pabandom iš naujo! Five acts have qualified for to the semi-finals.
