ESC Covers, like in previous years, google translated ESC Norge discussion on the Eurovision song contest positions, from Norwegian to English.

11th place in the semi-finals is actually a pretty bad position, but our Australian friend Go-Jo was 10 points short of getting there, so you’re so far away that there’s little reason to be so sad about the result, I think.

“Milkshake Man” was the name of the song and when you read the lyrics you might wonder what milky liquid is actually being sung about in this song, because the lyrics can absolutely be interpreted in both a decent and indecent way and you might wonder why a text of this kind passed the control while other countries’ texts did not, if the obscenities are cleverly disguised then it’s okay, right?

I was at a party at this guy’s place and in civilian clothes he was very charming, but the breathless performance on stage probably meant that a lot of the charm fell away and you almost got a little tired of watching this and vocally it was a little shaky at times there too.

What we saw was simply too messy and without the common thread that could have gotten the people on board with this, too much milk in the body is simply not the recipe to captivate the European audience, as it turns out.

Another thing that I see as a small review note this year is that the countries that are furthest from the center of Europe without too many people who have moved to central parts of Europe simply struggled to collect enough points, whether this should indicate that the jury should return to the semi-finals is perhaps something to think about.

Our Australian friends have now lost the finals for 2 years in a row and they almost have to start toning down their shows if you ask me, it’s getting too much of a good thing.
