Morten Thomassen discussed the chances of the 3 entries from semi final 3 that made it to the final.

The final is fast approaching and all the artists are now in place in Trondheim and rehearsing hard for what will, for most of them, be one of the biggest highlights of their career, regardless of the result.

I’ll take a look at the semi finale 3 songs today and do we have the winner here, I think?

Eline Thorp

For an artist with self-proclaimed stage fright, regardless of the result, it must be an enormous result to just make it to the final and restart her career on Norway’s thirstiest stage.

Young Miss Thorp was a happy reunion and had a performance in her semi-final that smelled burnt, here we saw someone who was happy to be back in the circus arena again.

We shouldn’t ignore this song from leading the vote after the international juries have had their say, here is the big question whether the people will get excited as much, those who play that kind of thing have learned that this will be 8th place with 2 % chance of winning.

And I actually disagree with those who live for other people’s tendency to play on such things, I imagine that a 5th place is what this song can end up with.

Atle Pettersen

At the time of writing, this talented fellow is in 4th place with the bookmakers and he has a whopping 11% chance of winning, and then the race should be over?

Well, as in the final, I think that someone will possibly realize on Saturday that they have set completely wrong odds and those who were lucky enough to think that an artist with the common surname Pettersen would win can collect a nice profit.

The way I see it, this song has everything it needs, both to get the audience on the hook, but also that this song is jury food so it will last and the dish with this particular dish will soon be emptied on the MGP cold table on Saturday.

I therefore think that I am now talking about the song that will end up in 1st place on Saturday, last Saturday’s performance showed that Atle has everything needed to take him there.

Skrellex

Finally, my favorite song in this semi-final was able to progress and I was actually very happy that this particular song made it through to the finals.

Now we get the quota of danceable beats with sparkling content filled up and well then, a big sparkling plus in the margin because we are dealing with a drag artist who has the vocals really on point.

Despite my euphoria, I think that when Skrellex has 8 competitors, many people will have other songs that they feel more like voting for, and juries with music professionals rarely decide on this type of songs, I’m afraid.

I think therefore that the last place is narrowly avoided and then that means 8th place, but I know that Skrellex will live long on this experience anyway and it is a victory for all the participating artists anyway and on the odds it is 6th place with a 3% chance of winning which is standing.
