On 1 February the AFRI FRIEND AWARDS kicks off. There is in total 24 awards.

ESC COVERS have identified 8 countries – the 5 Nordic countries (Denmark, Finland, Iceland, Norway and Sweden) and the 3 Baltic countries (Estonia, Latvia and Lithuania).

There are 3 awards per country. The categories are the same for each country.

CATEGORY ONE – best cover of a Eurovision song from that country in ENGLISH

CATEGORY TWO – best cover of a Eurovision song from that country in AFRIKAANS

CATEGORY THREE – best cover of a Eurovision song from that country in any language but English or Afrikaans.

Nominations have been received and a total of three nominates per category is allowed. In a few cases less than three nominations have been received, and in cases where just one nomination has been received, that cover will automatically be the winner.

5 judges from 5 countries will vote for each category winner.

The first country is DENMARK and the other 7 will follow in alphabetical order. Youtube videos will be published (if they are available) and people reading the posts can comment.
