This year we celebrate 70 years of EUROVISION. ESC Covers will pick 70 Eurovision songs but we will not publish the original as those songs are well known. Instead we will pick a cover, in various languages and by various singers. There is no order, it is just as they come into our minds. One song per day will be posted. ANNA VISSI’S NEW SONG IS NO EXCEPTION
In 1982 ANNA VISSI represented CYPRUS at the Eurovision song contest with the song MONO I AGAPI. In 1979 ANNA VISSI with THE EPICOURI represented GREECE at the Eurovision song contest with the song SOCRATES. ANNA VISSI again represented GREECE in 2006 with the song EVERYTHING. EUROVISION SONG VERSUS COVERS – EIN BISSCHEN FRIEDEN
In a current series, we will look for 30 days to a Eurovision song and two covers of that song to compare if maybe someone who covered it, did it better than the original.
The Eurovision song is EIN BISSCHEN FRIEDEN, the 1982 Eurovision entry by NICOLE for Germany. It was sung in German. It also became the winner that year. The first cover is by BLES BRIDGES NIE LANK GELEDE and is in Afrikaans while the second cover is by KATRI HELENA VAIN HIEMAN RAUHAA and is in Finnish.
