Children Playing War – Short Movie release

A short film called ‘Children Playing War’ has been released conceived by Dr. Marilanda Majello, directed by Mario Santocchio, and managed by Longobardi.

The short movie features music and lyrics by Marvin Lark and Vezio Bacc, supervised by Maestro Adriano Pennino with vocal coaching  by Phyllisienne Brincat.

With the thanks to Phyllisienne’s academy, we discovered Matthew Hammett, who performs the song and is also the film’s lead star.  Martin Sapiano also acts in the movie.

The short film, Children Playing War, is a wake up call for adults to reflect. It highlights how deeply children are conditioned by selfishness, learning from an early age to play at war rather than peace.

In the film, the children play quietly and it remains an innocent game filled with laughter and smiles, where the bombs are made of paper. However, as they grow up, these children transform into soldiers—figures who no longer laugh—and the very first victims are the children themselves (children who are now afraid, weeping with hardened souls).

Peace is that long-forgotten game—a game we must return to playing, a game without borders, placed in the hands of children.

The concept behind the short film captures a slice of life that embodies a universal meaning. We look forward to the upcoming release of the duet version of the song I bambini giocano alla guerra. Matthew’s solo version will follow.
