NORWAY got a record breaking 18 gold medals at the 2026 Winter Olympics in Milano-Cortina. To celebrate this feat, ESC Covers will highlight for 18 days Norwegian  Eurovision entries and selection songs that are favourites from ESC Covers.

The 13th song is the 1989 Norwegian selection song OPTIMIST by JAHN TEIGEN. Both in 1988 and 1989 JAHN took part in the Norwegian selection with great songs but did not win the selections to represent NORWAY those two years. Such a pity.
