ITALY STARTS WITH THE 2024 SAN REMO FESTIVAL
Norbert from ESC Dublin to Amsterdam reports that Italy starts tonight the first evening of the annual San remo festival, which is in its 74th edition this year. The eventual winner of the five-day festival will represent Italy in Malmö. If they are not willing, RAI will appoint a candidate itself. However, the last time that happened was in 2016. We have been alerted to this cover that has just been published today. It is OMAR NABER of Slovenia, who represented his country twice at the Eurovision song contest, 2005 and 2017 (both times in Kyiv). He covers the song MAMMA MIA which was originally a hot for RICCHI & POVERI FROM Italy. They represented their country at the 1978 Eurovision song contest.
