Another busy night of national selections continued –

SWEDEN 

The fourth semi-final of the 2019 Melodifestivalen took place in Lidköping.

The two acts direct to the final are –

  • John LundvikToo Late For Love
  • BisharaOn My Own

The two acts to go to the second chance phase are Lisa Ajax and Arvingarna.

The duels for the Andra Chansen have been made –

>Andreas Johnson vs Anna Bergendahl

• Vlad Reiser vs Nano

• Martin Stenmarck vs Lisa Ajax

• Rebecka Karlsson vs Arvingarna

PORTUGAL

The four acts to qualify for the final of the 2019 Festival da Canção are –

  • NBC – Igual a Ti
  • SurmaPugna
  • MadrepazMundo a mudra 
  • Mariana Bragada – Mar doce

GEORGIA

The four finalists for Georgian Idol are –

  • Liza Kalandadze 
  • Giorgi Nakashidze
  • Oto Nemsadze
  • Giorgi Pruidze

The artist eliminated this week was Nini Tsnobiladze.

Eurovision 2019: Rest of the News Roundup – Saturday 16 February 2019

Besides four more entries being selected it was another busy night for national selection qualifiers –

SWEDEN

The qualifiers from the third semi-final of the 2019 Melodifestivalen from Leksand were –

  • Jon Henrik FjällgrenNorrsken
  • Lina HedlundVictorious 

The two acts to go to the second change phase are – Martin Stenmarck and Rebecka Karlsson.

HUNGARY

The 2019 A Dal continued with the last semi-final.

The four acts to qualify were –

  • Gergő Szekér – Madár, repülj!
  • Bogi Nagy – Holnap
  • Joci Pápai – Az én apám
  • Fatal Error – Kulcs

UKRAINE

The 2019 Vidbir competition continued and three acts made it to the final –

  • Kazka Apart
  • Freedom Jazz – Cupidon
  • Anna Maria – My Road

ICELAND

The 2019 Söngvakeppnin continued and two acts direct to the final –

  • Friðrik Ómar – Hvað ef ég get ekki elskað? 
  • Tara Mobee – Betri án þín

The final wildcard place for the final was awarded to  Kristina Skoubo Bærendsen.

LITHUANIA

The Eurovizijos Atranka 2019 continued and four acts qualified for the final –

  • Jurijus – Run With The Lions
  • Antikvariniai Kašpirovskio Dantys – Mažulė
  • Monika Marija – Criminal
  • Jurgis DID & Erica Jennings – Sing!

GEORGIA

Georgian Idol carried on and there are now five acts remaining after the elimination of Tamar Lachkhepiani.

PORTUGAL

Nutsa Buzaladze launches debut album “22”

Nutsa Buzaladze is a respected and also still a rising star from Georgia. She has released her debut album entitled ‘22′. It is a top quality album with a first class production. The album is quite diverse with many different styles of music. Her multicultural nature and talent are fluent through the various tracks

Nutsa hosted a special press conference for journalists at Bravo Records in Tbilisi. She explained she had been dreaming of recording an album since she was a little girl. Nutsa began recording the album last year when she was 21 years old. Now one year later she decided to name the album ‘22′.

Nutsa has already had much success. She won the festival New Wave 2014, she competed O Ses Türkiye (The Voice of Turkey). She was also successful on Georgia’s Got Talent, Your Face Sounds Familiar and Dancing With The Stars in Georgia.

In 2017 Nutsa participated in the Georgian Eurovision national selection and was runner up with the emotional ballad White Horses Run.

The album ‘22′ will be available to purchase from all musical platforms in March.

You can see the press conference at the link below where Nutsa performed two songs.  One was in the Georgian language and also a song in English. Nutsa described the English song Like An Ocean, as a Eurovision type song. She would very much like to perform on the Eurovision stage one day.

Danielle Mazuz is the latest singer to be eliminated from the competition.

Tatia Kobaladze is an artist to look out for from Georgia. She has appeared on the X Factor and she has a strong and powerful voice.

Tatia is currently working with a band and hopes to make herself known to an international audience also. We look forward to hearing more music from Tatia in the near future.

Grigol Kipshidze & Tamar Edilashvili duet on festive show

Grigol Kipshidze & Tamar Edilashvili performed together on a New Year festive show in Georgia. They sang Faith by Stevie Wonder as used in the Sing movie soundtrack.

Grigol represented Georgia at the 2017 Junior Eurovision Song Contest in Tbilisi with Voice Of The Heart.

Tamar recently represented Georgia at the 2018 Junior Eurovision Song Contest in Minsk with Your Voice.

Both Grigol and Tamar have exceptional and soulful voices. The combination of them both singing Faith worked perfectly.

Nodiko Tatishvili releases new single ‘Me votsnebobdi’

Nodiko Tatishvili has released a brand new single and video clip for his song Me votsnebobdi (I dreamed). It is a laid back jazz type pop song with a nice rhythm.

Me votsnebobdi is composed by Davi MC and Manana Gurgenidze. The production and orchestration are by Aleko Berdzenishvili. A special mention for the musicians including Paata Andriadze (piano), Levan Deisadze (bass), Ucha Metreveli (Guitar), Zaza Tsertsvadze (Drums).  The recording is courtesy of Bravo Records. Nestan Sinjikashvili  is the director of the music video.

Nodiko is also known sometimes as his shortened name, Nodi. Nodi Tatishvili & Sophie Gelovani represented Georgia at the 2013 Eurovision Song Contest with Waterfall.

Georgia: Tamar Edilashvili was one of the bright stars at 2018 Junior Eurovision with ‘Your Voice’

One of the outstanding performances and memorable songs from the 2018 Junior Eurovision Song Contest was by Tamar Edilashvili. She represented Georgia with her song Your Voice.

Tamar gave a great show on the stage and her song was catchy and contemporary. She has a great charisma and was a pleasure to interview in Minsk. I am sure we will be hearing a lot more of Tamar in the future.

Mariam Kakhelishvili releases beautiful cover version of ‘Golden Slumbers’

Mariam Kakhelishvili has recently released a charming cover version of the song Golden Slumbers. The song was originally recorded by the Beatles but Mariam’s interpretation is more influenced by the Jennifer Hudson version.

Mariam showcases her beautiful and powerful vocals on the track. The video clip is filmed in black and white and portrays Mariam in an elegant and attractive fashion.

Mariam represented Georgia at the 2010 Junior Eurovision Song Contest with the popular Mari Dari, where she was sometimes nicknamed ‘Baby Gaga’! She has also been auditioning for the next season of Georgian Idol, where the eventual winner will represent Georgia at the 2018 Eurovision Song Contest. We wish Mariam lots of luck with, what we hope, will be a long and successful journey.

Mariam Kakhelishvili has auditioned for the next season of Georgian Idol. Mariam has a big and powerful and beautiful soulful voice and ESC Covers wishes her lots of luck in this competition.

The big incentive for Mariam and other competitors for Georgian Idol is that the winner will represent Georgia at the 2019 Eurovision Song Contest.

Mariam has been singing since a very young age and she finished third in the Georgia Got Talent show, Nichieri,  in 2010 and she impressed many as she represented Georgia at the 2010 Junior Eurovision Song Contest with the classic Mari Dari.

Mariam was compared to Lady Gaga and was given the nickname of Baby Gaga!! She is a true talent with a big voice and deserves to be a big star.
