Winner of Efi Gjika competition gives insight in to ‘Cool Kids’ video shoot!

efi

Efi Gjika had an idea of a competition, where some Polish fans could join her in the music video shoot of her single Cool Kids. Efi represented Albania at the 2018 Junior Eurovision Song Contest with Barbie and was in Poland, also to read the Albanian jury results.

The lucky winners of the competition included Madzia Słowik, Julia and Tosia Skóra. Madzia has been speaking to ESC Covers and she tells us about her exciting experience.

Madzia loved Barbie by Efi ever since seeing the video on YouTube and enjoyed it even more at the 2018 Junior Eurovision. She became a big fan of Efi and dreamed of meeting her someday! However, Albania is a long way from her home country, Poland, so she never thought it would be possible. But she saw that Efi was running a competition on Instagram for fans in Poland and the lucky prize for the winners would be to meet her in the Polish city of Kraków. The winners would also participate in the video clip of Efi’s song, Cool Kids. Madzia thought this was an amazing opportunity, as she is from Kraków too. She entered the competition…and she was one of the winners! Fabulous!

Madzia said it was a really great experience and an amazing adventure. She got to see how the music video was made and it was a dream come true! She got to spend time with her idol, Efi and also meet the other winners of the competition, Tosia and Julia. They made friends with each other and keep in touch!  The music video for Cool Kids took about two hours to film. Although you only see the girls for a few seconds, the shoot took much longer and the girls got to walk around some great places in Kraków. They all went to the Kraków market square and after filming they all went to the café together with Efi’s parents. It was such a wonderful experience! Madzia, Julia and Tosia asked Efi lots of questions and they had a lot of fun. Efi also asked the girls questions too.

It was an exciting few days for Madzia as she got to meet Efi, she attended the 2019 Eurovision Song Contest in Gliwice and got to the album launch concert of Darina Krasnovetska (2018 JESC Ukraine) in Krakow.
The video was a lot of hard work but it was well worth it and it was one of the best days of her life, Madzia told us. She got to fulfil a dream and would love to experience it all again!
