Albania: e-Fest 2020 | Online Edition including Mishela Rapo

Every year the Epoka University in Albania organises a special concert by the students. However, this year it was not possible to do a live concert so the students recorded special video clips at the university for e-Fest 2020 | Online Edition.

Amongst the talented students is Mishela Rapo. She performed Me tana by Elvana Gjata (the song was one of the big favourites in Festivali i Këngës 58). Mishela represented Albania at the 2015 Junior Eurovision Song Contest with Dambaje.

The e-Fest 2020 was presented by Amela Rahimi and Sildi Mustafa. The other students who performed were Aroilda Albrahimi, Klinti Collaku and DJ Sildi. There was an interview with actor, Visjan Ukcenaj. A group of students (3 girls and 3 boys) performed an upbeat track. It was an overall first class production.

Vanesa Sono has won the Albanian Future Stars London competition taking the top diploma prize for her outstanding talent.

The founder of the Albanian Future Stars is Juliana Shalla.  The project is a showcase for the diaspora of young Albanian talent from Albania, Kosovo, North Macedonia and Montenegro and throughout the world.

Vanesa is 18 years old and she is originally from Saranda in Albania. She has been living in the United Kingdom for the last three years. She has had success in several musical competitions including in Australia and USA. She has charming and powerful vocals. She took part in the International Festival of Language and Culture in Melbourne. Back in 2015 Vanesa won the Gjeniui i Vogel competition where along the way she gave an amazing performance of Suus by Rona Nishliu (2012 ESC Albania).

Vanesa recorded a video clip for the song Vaçe Zela (Waltz of happiness) in Saranda, Albania as part of a variety tv show. You can see the video below as well as several of Vanesa’s stage performances.

As part of prize for winning the Albanian Future Stars London competition, Vanesa will record a music video by the sponsors Daniel Dervishi Production, Korçe, Albania.

Vlera Kastrati from Kosovo won the second prize and Ina Salaj from Tirana, Albania took the third prize and they will record a cover via Daniel Dervishi Production.

Lindita has released a brand new song entitled Better You. It is a very contemporary sound with a slow drop r’nb beat and some ethnic instruments.

Better You is available to purchase or stream via most digital stores including Amazon and Apple Music.

Lindita represented Albania at the 2017 Eurovision Song Contest with World.

Ana Kodra wins Grand Prix prize at the WAPA International Festival

Ana Kodra has had a big success by winning the top Grand Prix prize for her age category, 10-13 years, at the WAPA World Vision – World Association of Performing Arts International Contest 2020 via an online competition consisting of 40 countries.

Congratulations to Ana, who continues to impress judges and fans around the world with her powerful vocals and charming personality.

Ana represented Albania at the 2017 Junior Eurovision Song Contest with Mos ma prekni pemën / Don’t Touch My Tree.

Efi Gjika releases brand new single and music video for ‘Stand Up’

Efi Gjika returns with her brand new song entitled Stand Up. The song is about ‘standing up’ and don’t back down and keep believing and keep on dreaming! This song shows a sensitive and soulful side to Efi and her vocals and music.

Stand Up is composed by Winnie Sofia from the USA. The orchestral music is courtesy of Dan Korshunov from Russia. Recording and mastering is by Sokol Marsi in Albania.

The music video for Stand Up is beautifully shot in Albania by the sea and in the lakes and mountainside.

Special thanks also to Gerti Ibra for video and photo and Pro Video for the studio. The backing vocalists are Sara and Luna. The styling and clothing is by Hristina Gjika and the production by Kliton Gjika.

Efi represented Albania at the 2018 Junior Eurovision Song Contest with Barbie. She has since recorded several hit songs and video clips.

Mira Janji releases new single and it’s ‘So High’

Mira Janji has released a brand new single and a fun feelgood music video for her song So High.

So High is perfect for the summer days ahead. It has a cool and sexy rhythm and gives positive vibes. It has a strong beat, great vocals and has a powerful production and is radio friendly.

The music for So High is composed by Cricket. The track is just what is needed to make us look forward to better days ahead. A great formula for a summer hit!

The video definitely reflects a sunshine and happy feeling and was recorded in Albania. Mira radiates her cool and sexy style throughout. Some scenes are at the beach and others at the swimming pool.

Efi Gjika has covered the international hit Someone You Loved by Lewis Capaldi. The song showcases another side to Efi with her performance of the emotional ballad.

Efi originally sang Someone You Loved on her Instagram account and received a lot of very positive feedback. She decided to record the song and make a video filmed in the studio and also in a park in Tirana.

Efi represented Albania at the 2018 Junior Eurovision Song Contest with the catchy Barbie and has since released successful songs and video clips such as Happy Birthday, Summer Days and Cool Kids.

World Vision 2020/Albania

Kristiana Veshaj took part in World Vision 2020 with ‘Pushimet’

Kristiana Veshaj recently took part in the World Vision 2020 song contest, representing Albania, with Pushimet (Holidays). The festival was organised online by WAPA during the current world health situation.

Kristiana originally performed Pushimet at the Junior Fest 2019 (Albania Junior Eurovision national selection).

Kristiana is a talented young singer and musician. She has already had much success in festivals and competition in Albania and abroad. In 2019 she impressed the judges and public in the Top Talent 2 tv series and has taken part in The Voice Kids Albania and Supertalent in Germany.

I am sure we will be hearing a lot more of Kristiana in the future. In the meantime check out Pushimet below.

Vasya Boykova has recorded a beautiful version of the 2020 Albanian Eurovision song, Fall From The Sky, by Arilena Ara. Vasya’s clear and powerful vocals do much credit for the interpretation.

Vasya has also shot a charming and emotional music video clip for Fall From The Sky. The video is filmed beautifully by Mark Kireiev and it captures the passionate tones of the song.

Vasya has also recorded more songs from the 2020 Eurovision – Empires (Alicja Szemplińska – Poland) and Fai rumore (Diodato – Italy).
