This year we celebrate 70 years of EUROVISION. ESC Covers will pick 70 Eurovision songs but we will not publish the original as those songs are well known. Instead we will pick a cover, in various languages and by various singers. There is no order, it is just as they come into our minds. One song per day will be posted. EUROVISION SONG VERSUS COVERS – UN BANC, UN ARBRE, UNE RUE
In a current series, we will look for 30 days to a Eurovision song and two covers of that song to compare if maybe someone who covered it, did it better than the original.
The Eurovision song is UN BANC, UN ARBRE, UNE RUE, the 1971 Eurovision entry by SEVERINE for Monaco. It was sung in French at the contest. It turned out the winning song that year. The first cover is by VIRGINIA LEE A BRAND NEW DAY and is in two languages English and French while the second cover is by KIRSTI SPARBOE PA EN GAMMEL BENT and is in Norwegian.
