Nika Zorjan releases official video for ‘Uspavanka’

Nika Zorjan has just released the official video clip for her 2018 EMA song in Slovenia entitled Uspavanka (Lullaby). The song and video have a charming summer retro and pop/ethnic feel and Nika’s mother is also featured in the clip.

Uspavanka was composed by Maraaya, Jimmy Jansson, Samuel Waermo, Art Hunter and Nika Zorjan. It is produced and arranged by Raay and Jimmy Jansson and the video is by Raay Music and Karo Media.

Amaia & Alfred release ‘Your Song’ – English version of their 2018 Eurovision entry

Amaia & Alfred will soon represent Spain at the 2018 Eurovision Song Contest in Portugal with their song Tu Canción. Now the duo have released an English version of the entry entitled Your Song.

Jana Mirković releases sensational new video for ‘Oluja’

Jana Mirković represented Montenegro at the 2015 Junior Eurovision Song Contest with the song Oluja. Now to celebrate her 18th birthday Jana has released a sensational new video of Oluja.

Oluja still sounds outstandingly fresh in 2018 and is perfect for the summer beaches and dancefloors.  Jana also has blossomed in to an even more beautiful girl. The video event took place at the Metropol Palace in Belgrade, Serbia. The photos and video of the event are courtesy of Aleksic.

DoReDos will soon represent Moldova at the 2018 Eurovision Song Contest with My Lucky Day. Now the band have released a Russian version of the song entitled Moy schastlivyy den.

ABBA to release new music for the first time since the 80s

ABBA have announced some great news today for fans. They will release two new songs. The first new recordings in over 35 years.

There is no official release date yet for the songs but one of them I Still Have Faith In You will be performed by their digital avatar selves in a BBC and NBC special tv show in December this year

In 2019 there will be a virtual tour by ABBA. Further news on the special shows will be announced in due course.

96OneDream open the show for Saara Aalto at Under The Bridge in London

YouTube sensations 96OneDream opened the show for Saara Aalto in her pre-Eurovision concert held at the Under The Bridge venue in London on Wednesday.

Holly Murray and Vanessa Rogers are 96OneDream and they are good friends from Newcastle and London in the UK.

At the show the girls performed two songs including the catchy Glass Of Cola.

Saara Aalto performs an impressive show in London

Saara Aalto gave a pre-Eurovision concert at the Under The Bridge venue in London on Wednesday. She gave a confident and impressive performance of tracks from her album released today ‘Wild Wild Wonderland’ as well as providing some surprises.

ESC Covers was there to cover the event. Saara performed her three songs from the 2018 UMK Finland national selection – Queens, Domino and of course Monsters. She also performed her runner up song from the 2015 UMK No Fear. Saara also sang some Eurovision classics such as Diva and Rise Like A Phoenix.

Saara was joined by some special guests. First up were YouTube sensations 96OneDream. Ari Ólafsson (2018 ESC Iceland) joined her on stage to perform Con Te PartiroRyan O’Shaughnessy (2018 ESC Ireland) joined Saara for a version of the 1994 Irish winning Eurovision song Rock ‘N’ Roll Kids. Matt Terry (the winner of the 2016 X Factor in UK where Saara was runner up) performed Calm After The Storm (2014 ESC The Netherlands).

Bella Paige impresses judges on The Voice Australia

Bella Paige gave an outstanding performance in the blind auditions phase of the The Voice Australia 2018. All four judges, Delta Goodrem, Kelly Rowland, Joe Jonas and Boy George turned their seats in admiration of her fine interpretation of the song Praying by Kesha.

Bella will be mentored by Kelly Rowland (international singer and songwriter and former member of Destiny’s Child). With Bella’s powerful vocals and stage presence she has a good change to make further big impressions on this journey.

Bella represented Australia at the 2015 Junior Eurovision Song Contest with the song My Girls and she went all the way to the final of The Voice Kids in Australia in 2014.

Fabrizio Faniello returns with ‘Unexpected’ new single …and album release

Fabrizio Faniello is back with a brand new single and album for the spring of 2018. The new single is entitled Unexpected and it is composed by David Neisser, Michael James Down and Primaz Poglajen. It is a laid back and reflective ballad with meaningful lyrics.

The new album also called ‘Unexpected ‘and is courtesy of CAP-Sounds / Budde Music Germany. The executive producer is Manfred Holz. The list of composers of the 13 songs on the album are David Neisser, Michael James Down, Primoz Poglajen, Jonas Thander, Charlie Mason, Peter Ries, Axel Klopprogge, Chantal Hartmann, Noel Borg, Philip Vella, Dominic Cini, Rita Pace, Paul Abela, Georgina Abela, Pongki Barata, Johan Bejerholm, Robert Uhlmann, Niklas Edberger, Warren Fenech and of course Fabrizio.

Unexpected can be streamed or purchased via most digital sites including Spotify, Soundcloud, Amazon and iTunes.

Fabrizio represented Malta at the Eurovision Song Contest in 2001 and 2006.

Last weekend saw the final of The Entertainers – Singing Challenge-Kategorija B on Net tv in Malta. Some very talented singers took part in this competition and should be congratulated after some fine performances (not just in the final but throughout the challenge of the series).

The results of the Top 3 in the Kategorija B section and congratulations to –

  • 2nd place: Charisse Ann Vassallo
  • 1st place: Samira Cauchi
