Anja Baš recently participated in the 2016 EMA competition in Slovenia with her song What If. It is composed by Anja herself and the musical arrangement is by Anja and Franci Zabukovec.
Anja began her musical career in 2004 with the group Angee and 2011 decided to go solo. Her first song was entitled S tabo (Without you). She then joined another group, Rock Partyzani. and released the song Moj Lubi (My dear). Anja also participated in the 2012 edition of the Slovenian X Factor series. In 2015 she released her album, ‘Punca iz Tvoje Ulice’ (Girl from your street).

The 10 acts who will participate in the 2016 EMA national selection in Slovenia have been announced. They include two former Eurovision participants for Slovenia. Regina, who sang Dan najlepših sanj in 1996, returns as well as Nuša Derenda, who gave us Energy in 2001.
Also, in the selection is ManuElla, who progressed far in the Misija Evrovizija competition, to find the competitor for Slovenia for the 2012 Eurovision Song Contest. The eventual winner was Eva Bota.
