ALS HET OM DE LIEFDE GAAT – THE NETHERLANDS 1972

A few days ago I started to post about a Eurovision song with an original version and at least two covers. As ESC Covers is a COVERS website, one of two covers of the original song will be posted.

The third song is from 1972. It is ALS HET OM DE LIEFDE GAAT by SANDRA & ANDRES for the Netherlands.  I started at 1970 and each day I will move one year. This year we celebrate 70 years of EUROVISION. ESC Covers will pick 70 Eurovision songs but we will not publish the original as those songs are well known. Instead we will pick a cover, in various languages and by various singers. There is no order, it is just as they come into our minds. One song per day will be posted. THE LAST TV PERFORMANCE OF VICKY LEANDROS

Norbert of LOVE FOR MUSIC reported that VICKY LEANDROS gave her last TV performance. VICKY first got the Eurovision attention in 1967 when she performed for LUXEMBOURG with L’ AMOUR EST BLEU. In 1972 she again took the stage for LUXEMBOURG at the Eurovision song contest with APRES TOI and won.
