This year we celebrate 70 years of EUROVISION. ESC Covers will pick 70 Eurovision songs but we will not publish the original as those songs are well known. Instead we will pick a cover, in various languages and by various singers. There is no order, it is just as they come into our minds. One song per day will be posted.

Day 14 is song  14 and it is the 1966 Eurovision winner MERCI CHERIE by UDO JURGENS for AUSTRIA.

We have picked a cover by MADALENA IGLESIAS from Portugal. It is also called MERI CHERIE but sung in Portuguese.  MADALENA represented Portugal at the Eurovision song contest in 1966 with ELE E  ELA. It was sung in Portuguese.
