This year we celebrate 70 years of EUROVISION. ESC Covers will pick 70 Eurovision songs but we will not publish the original as those songs are well known. Instead we will pick a cover, in various languages and by various singers. There is no order, it is just as they come into our minds. One song per day will be posted.

Day 11 is song  11 and it is the 1991 Eurovision entry NINA by STEFAN & EYFI for ICELAND.

We have picked a cover by BLES BRIDGES from South Africa. His version of NINA is the biggest seller of a Eurovision cover in Afrikaans. As an artist, BLES had at least 10 double gold or platinum CD’s/LP’s. NINA is sung in Afrikaans. Later a version of NINA was mastered by his record company to form a duet between BLES (who by then had been dead for like 17 years after a car accident) and his grand daughter.
