This year we celebrate 70 years of EUROVISION. ESC Covers will pick 70 Eurovision songs but we will not publish the original as those songs are well known. Instead we will pick a cover, in various languages and by various singers. There is no order, it is just as they come into our minds. One song per day will be posted. Duo Africa (consists of Cole van Dais of South Africa and Gbenga Adenuga of Nigeria) covered the 2013 Eurovision entry from Belarus SOLAYOH.
COMPILATION CDs for VIENNA – part 1
Besides the 6 compilation CDs to celebrate the fact that Eurovision is 60 years old (the covers of these 6 will be posted soon — Gerry is still finishing his designs), we have a few copies left of the compilation CDs we had in 2014 in Copenhagen. These will be made available in Vienna. The first up is the compilation – EUROVISION WE SING YOUR SONGS VOL 9 – this CD contains Euro covers of 2013 songs and just 2 copies are still available. EUROVISION 60th CELEBRATION – SONG 3 of 60
The third song on this anniversary compilation comes from BELARUS and is their 2013 song SOLAYOH performed by Alyona Lankskaya with a backing singer from South Africa, WILLEM BOTHA. Willem had first chance to cover it but turned it down and DUO AFRICA grabbed the opportunity and the song is in Afrikaans and Aruba, a language of Nigeria.
