Peppino Di Capri (27 July 1939 – 11 July 2026), born Giuseppe Faiella, was an Italian singer, songwriter, and pianist who enjoyed success in Italy and across Europe.
He participated in the Sanremo Festival several times, winning in 1973 with Un Grande Amore E Niente Più and in 1976 with Non Lo Faccio Più.
He achieved his greatest successes in the 1970s with songs such as Voce ‘E Notte, I’Te Vurria Vasà, Let’s Twist Again, St. Tropez Twist, Nun È Peccato, Malatia, Nessuno Al Mondo, Luna Caprese, Roberta, and Champagne.
In 1991, he represented Italy at the Eurovision Song Contest in Rome with Comme E’Ddoce ‘O Mare, a song performed in his native Neapolitan language. He finished in seventh place.
Di Capri passed away on 11 July 2026 at the age of 87, following a long illness.
