RUSSIA got 8 gold medals at the 2026 Para Winter Olympics in Milano-Cortina. They only had 6 individuals competing. To celebrate this feat, ESC Covers will highlight for 8 days Russian  Eurovision entries and selection songs that are favourites from ESC Covers.

The 8th song is the 2016 Russian Eurovision entry YOU ARE THE ONLY ONE by SERGEY LAZAREV. This is my favourite Russian entry and the staging is great. It should have won Eurovision that year. There is an English cover of the song by a South African singer – pity no Afrikaans cover.
