This year we celebrate 70 years of EUROVISION. ESC Covers will pick 70 Eurovision songs but we will not publish the original as those songs are well known. Instead we will pick a cover, in various languages and by various singers. There is no order, it is just as they come into our minds. One song per day will be posted.

Day 3 is song  3 and it is the 1958 Eurovision entry NEL BLU DIPINTO DI BLU by DOMENICO MODUGNO for ITALY. This is one of the biggest global hits from Eurovision and also the song most covered of all Eurovision entries.

We have picked a cover by CLIFF RICHARD from the United Kingdom, although Cliff does not sing it in English. He calls his cover NEL BLU DIPINTO DI BLU (VOLARE).
